Big Jim's tip for 22 June: British and Irish Lions

Written by James Potter

The British and Irish Lions tour of the Southern Hemisphere is one of the few great traditions that still remain in the world of rugby. It only happens every four years and it is now Australia’s turn to host the invaders after they fell just short against the South African Springboks in 2009.

I think the Lions should beat the Wallabies tonight and will go on to win the series. Possibly the Aussies have a chance in Game 3 but a whitewash wouldn’t surprise me. Wallabies coach Robbie Deans will be fighting for his job but I just think the Lions are too well drilled for an Australian team that has failed to find any continuity in the last decade. A revolving door selection policy makes it very hard to find a cohesive outfit.
