After all the standard off-field dramas the Australian rugby league has to deal with year after year, the season comes as a welcome distraction. The NRL is always one of the closest competitions in the world and apart from one or two teams who might struggle, the rest have every chance to make the finals. I love my boys the Rabbitohs this year, but I think they are in for a real tough match to open the season. The Roosters have a new coach and have spent their money incredibly well in the off-season. The chooks will get a big head start tonight in front of a sellout crowd and I reckon they’ll be competitive.
