Big Jim's weekend preview

Written by James Potter

There is still one more day of racing in Flemington, Australia, before the focus shifts to Hong Kong later this year. Family day at the Spring Carnival is full of group racing, so it will be worth tuning into. Congratulations to Green Moon for winning the Melbourne Cup. It was a bit of a surprise, but the slow-paced track helped some of the locally trained horses, and the heavyweights from Europe struggled to storm home.

There’s a great weekend coming up in the NFL. The Cowboys will travel to meet the Eagles for a grudge match, which both teams need to win to stay in the running for the Super Bowl. We also have the Sunday night matchup between the Texans and the Bears. Both of these sides have 7-1 records this season, so this is going to be one hell of a game! I’m leaning towards the Bears but Houston will be desperate to show they can beat top-rated teams in the lead up to the finals.

The NBA has got off to a flying start. I can’t remember so much hype leading into a season. It’s unfortunate when the best team in the competition is a team everyone loves to hate, but at least we have plenty of betting action to enjoy everyday.

The best of the weekend’s games in the EPL are on Sunday with Man City hosting Tottenham and Chelsea hosting Liverpool. I reckon both home teams will get the job done.

Good luck and good punting.
