Big Jim's weekend preview

Written by James Potter

The Aussies and the South Africans will line up for the final Test of their three-Test series this weekend. After a slow start to the tour, the contest has finally heated up and Perth is the perfect venue for an explosive climax! I’m leaning towards the South Africans, who should be able to make the best of the conditions in Perth. They have a better bowling attack – a key factor on this bouncy pitch, which was also the venue of their heroic victory the last time they visited Australia. However, the South Africans have injury problems and their bowlers have had to carry a serious workload in a short period of time. I’m still very keen on them in this Test as the price on offer is too tempting to pass up.

We are currently heading into week 12 of the 17-week NFL regular season, so many of the teams with average records must win or kiss their dreams of making the playoffs goodbye. The Saints, Buccaneers, Seahawks, Vikings and Bengals are in this category and all face tough games on the road. It looks like the favorites will be hard to beat this week, but there will be plenty of desperate teams who will be offering excellent value for money. The challenge lies in picking the right ones to bet on. The Buccaneers and Bengals are my picks of the underdogs but I’m wary of the favorites in this round!

Hammers v Chelsea should be one hell of a game this weekend. West Ham knew they had a tough stretch coming up, and must play desperate football if they want to beat Chelsea. The boys in blue, on the other hand, need to start winning again and they need to start now. West Bromwich is currently sitting third on the table after playing 13 games! They have another winnable game coming up, and another three points will keep the fairytale going if they can beat Stoke City.

Good luck and good punting.
