Big Jim's weekend preview

Written by James Potter

There’s plenty of sport on this weekend including some excellent cricket action from India and New Zealand. Jump on the Indians to clean up the Aussies and get on England to crush the Kiwis. You will have to take a little worse than even money on both bets, but unless there is bad weather or a miracle the two favorites look like sure things.

There’s still no Rory this weekend in the golf but there is a pretty hot field lining up in the Arnold Palmer Invitational. My man, the one and only Tiger is paying around $4.00 to win the tournament. I reckon this is good value considering he is in great form and loves this tournament and course. Snedeker, Mickelson, Garcia, McDowell, Watson and Bradley are all capable if Tiger doesn’t fire, but make sure you don’t take anything shorter than 30/1 on anyone else besides the man.

The Formula 1 opener last week had all of you motor sport fanatics salivating after months of struggling from a lack of petrol fumes, burning rubber and the whine of finely tuned engines. It’s Malaysia’s turn to host this weekend and Red Bull’s Vettel is paying in excess of $3.00 to win. This looks pretty tasty to me as I still reckon he will be the man to beat this year and he will be fuming after last week’s race got away. Alonso looks great, as does the Flying Finn in his Lotus. Webber should improve and Hamilton will want to secure points. This should be a great race and it will be on at a friendly time for all of us here in Asia.

There’s plenty of rugby league, Super 15, NBA basketball, ice hockey, and tennis. It’s that time of year when there is a plethora of action and we aren’t complaining.

Good luck and good punting.
