Big Jim’s weekend preview

Written by James Potter

We’re in for another huge weekend of sport so commandeer the TV controller, place a few bets and sit back and enjoy. There is so much on I felt like giving you 10 tips every day but instead I will try and steer you in the right direction here in this week’s preview.

The Manchester City v Everton game looks to be the pick of the EPL games this weekend but there are some other interesting match-ups. Tottenham will have to be careful against London rivals West Ham and Southampton v Swansea may throw up an interesting result. The big names will be looking to secure much needed wins – especially United who travel to the Stadium of Light in Sunderland with their season in free fall. If they can’t beat the winless Black Cats they may as well throw in the towel.

There are some blockbuster NFL games and the biggest problem is going to be which game to watch! Unfortunately the best games also have the early kickoff which is the worst time for us here in Asia. I like the following teams at the line – Bengals, Lions, Colts, Ravens, Bears, Giants, Titans, Cowboys, Raiders, 49ers (Sunday night football) and Falcons (Monday night football).

The other huge event is the NRL Grand Final which features the Sydney Roosters and Manly This is a mouth-watering match-up and one that shouldn’t be missed for those lovers of rugby league. I tend to favor the Roosters who have been the best team all year but it will be close and I think the line at -3.5 is fairly close to the mark. Both sides are brilliant defensive outfits so look to bet a low scoring game.

There is also Formula 1, baseball, horse racing and Presidents Cup golf on another weekend where too much sport is never enough.

Good luck and good punting.
