Secrets of sports betting Sport

Big Jim's weekend preview

Written by James Potter

The late nights spent watching football from Europe have come to an end. I’m glad of it, it’s been a torrid few weeks. It does, however, leave a bit of a gap in the sporting landscape.

The highlight of this weekend is Wimbledon. Djokovic looks menacing in the men’s draw but could easily be pushed out by Federer, Murray or even the charismatic Frenchman Tsonga. The women’s draw is wide open and I expect a new champion to be crowned.

Baseball is the only sport coming out of the US at the moment and many sports lovers tend to find it quite boring. My suggestion is try to develop a taste for this sport. Once the playoffs get underway the action really starts to heat up, and it becomes a totally different game just like in the NBA.

There will be plenty of rugby and AFL to keep punters interested, and it’s also a great round in the rugby league. I love betting the week after a State of Origin game. Look out for late team changes and remember some of the superstars will be a little under the weather.

In golf we will soon be turning our focus to the British Open, and of course, the Olympics are just around the corner.

Good luck and good punting.
