Big Jim’s weekend wrap

Written by James Potter

Frankel the freak recorded another victory late last week in a performance that left every horse racing lover breathless. There are no words to describe this horse – adjectives like breathtaking, unbeatable, scintillating, extraordinary, captivating and awe-inspiring come close, but still don’t do justice to this equine phenomenon. America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand have all had their champions but not one can compare to Frankel. He races against the best on offer and wins with such ease it really doesn’t seem fair to the other champion horses that are being whipped to stay within 20 lengths of the mighty champion, who continues to forge away with gay aplomb.

The All Blacks demolition of the Wallabies on the weekend has answered two questions definitively. Firstly, this All Black side are deserved world champions, and secondly, Wallabies coach New Zealand-born Robbie Deans is running out of excuses and may be packing his bags for a trip over the ditch very soon.

Swansea, Chelsea and Everton are off to a flying start in the Premier League this year. Man United never really looked like dropping any points at home to Fulham, but conceding an early and late goal must have given heart flutters to the Old Trafford faithful. We have seen this sort of thing from the Red Devils before but expect them to hang in until the end of the year and then tighten the screws when it really matters.

We have a fairly quiet week ahead of us in sports but tune in for another bumper this weekend.

Good luck and good punting.
