Big Jim's weekend wrap

Written by James Potter

The All Blacks fought for a hard-earned victory against the Springboks in Dunedin over the weekend. This team might be one of the best of all time. Even though they are suffering from a host of injuries their depth is such that they can still win when the chips are down. In other rugby news, the Wallabies just scraped over the line against Argentina.

Hawthorn will crush the Adelaide Crows next week and will face either Sydney or Collingwood in the AFL Grand Final the following weekend. The rugby league is also down to the last four teams with Melbourne taking on Manly and the Bulldogs going head to head with South Sydney. It would take a herculean effort for Manly to upset the Storm, but the other game promises to be a very close affair in what can only be described as a blockbuster.

In the EPL, Arsenal and Man United secured crushing victories, whereas Chelsea missed a golden opportunity to put some distance between them and their rivals. The other disappointment was Man City who continue to play well below their best.

Major League Baseball is approaching the end of the season and the NFL is just gearing up, so there will be plenty of highlights coming from the US. Perhaps the most significant victory in the NFL was that of the Green Bay Packers who put an end to concerns they would start the season with two losses from two games.

Good luck and good punting.
