Big Jim's weekend wrap

The Pacers didn’t just force a Game 7 decider against the Heat, they cruised to a commanding win in Game 6 that has fans salivating for what comes next. The big winners are the San Antonio Spurs who are sitting with a smile while the best two teams in the NBA belt each other senseless. It’s going to be a great game but I have been spruiking the Heat all year and I am not about to jump ship.

We were a little unlucky with Justin Rose in the golf. He only missed the top 5 by two shots after shooting a horrible 73 in his fourth round. The winner was our old mate Matt Kucher who is a great guy and one of sport’s most famous baldies, so well done “Kuch” – your fellow baldies salute you. Tiger Woods had a disastrous week, proving that he is human after all. Rory McIlroy also continues to struggle. He has lost his mojo and doesn’t know where to find it.

The tennis has been running to plan with the top seeds in the men’s and women’s doing it with ease at the French Open. It looks like the much anticipated Novak Djokovic v Rafael Nadal semi is likely as long as ankles and knees stand up to the pressure. On the other side of the draw, David Ferrer will most likely battle it out with Roger Federer or Jo Wilfried Tsonga for a place in the final. In the women’s, Serana Williams looks in ominous form and appears to be headed towards the final – probably against Maria Sharapova or Victoria Azeranka, the second and third seeds.

Good luck and good punting.
