Big Jim's weekend wrap

Written by James Potter

It’s late at night and I’m watching the greatest tennis player of all time fighting it out on the grass courts of Wimbledon. Words just can’t describe how awesome Roger Federer is. He chewed up and spat out everything Murray dished up to him, and drove the Scotsman into the ground through belligerent and brutal tennis.

I feel blessed to have witnessed this wizard weave his magic. My top ten tennis players of all time will feature in the next issue of World Gaming Magazine, and the “Fed Express” will be high on the list so stay tuned!

Serena Williams won the women’s title. She is a champion and no one can take away her achievements in the game, but she did not display one ounce of the decorum and brilliance Roger did in the men’s final. Federer leaves me feeling exhilarated, whereas Serena makes me wish her opponent had found a way to beat her.

I hope you backed Carlton on Friday night. It just goes to show that form in football can sometimes be misleading. When reasonable teams go into form slumps they are only one game away from being back on track. The only thing I can say to Carlton supporters is they should be praying they can lure Mick Malthouse into coaching the famous club next year.

We have a little bit of a lull in sport over the next few days, but sit tight, the Olympics, the British Open and a host of other exciting events are just around the corner.

Good luck and keep on backing winners.
