Big Jim’s weekend wrap

Written by James Potter

The highlight of the weekend must have been the final round of the EPL. The 44-year drought for the Sky Blues is over. Manchester City claimed the EPL title with a dramatic win over Queens Park Rangers. City’s game was full of sporting theater and they left it until late on the last day to secure the famous victory. It was a rollercoaster ride for QPR but thanks to Stoke who drew with Bolton, QPR will remain in the Premiership next year by the slimmest of margins.

The Players Championship is always one hell of a golf tournament. TPC Sawgrass is one of the most challenging golf courses around and one that golfers love playing every year. The dreaded 17th hole gives players nightmares for the rest of their lives. This year it was Mr Nice Guy and fellow baldy, Matt Kuchar, who lifted the trophy after a great final round battle with Ben Curtis and young gun Rickie Fowler.

The playoffs continue in both the NBA and the NHL. So what about a tip, I hear you ask. Well the New Jersey Devils and the Miami Heat are going to be leading the way. I would love to see them lose, but as they say, in sport there is no room for sentiment. Still, be wary – both are beatable and you might find better looking for some value.

There will be plenty of baseball tips coming your way over the next couple of months as football and basketball head into their off-seasons. If you have never bet on baseball it might be about time you learn more about “America’s game”.

Good luck and good punting.
