It’s been a busier than usual start to the year in the WGM offices. With some exciting announcements ahead including the launch of a brand new product in the coming weeks, our time has been split between a plethora of meetings, the hiring of new staff, moving to a new office in Macau, plenty of travel and all of the frantic planning that inevitably comes with expansion.
Exciting times indeed!
Of course, May also means G2E Asia with this huge gaming trade show celebrating its 10th year in Macau in 2016. G2E Asia is a tremendously important annual event for Asian gaming as it brings people and companies from all areas of the industry together, while for WGM it also provides a great opportunity to discover new products and services soon to hit the market.
This year’s G2E Asia also sees the Macau International Clubbing Show (MICS) return for a second straight year and we preview this exciting recent addition on page 40.
We’re also excited to delve into the booming eSports industry for the first time this issue. Having undergone a massive surge in popularity over the past few years – with more people now playing video games than traditional sports – we caught up with members of professional team Fnatic to talk about the eSports phenomenon.
One last thing – you might notice this issue of WGM is a little bit thinner than usual. This is the new streamlined version of WGM which is a prelude to much bigger things to come for our organization within the next few weeks. Stay tuned for a big announcement soon!
As always, follow the dragon,
