Earlier this month, Macau Legend Development Limited’s co-Chairman Mr Carl Tong announced they were planning to raise US$300 million to upgrade their gaming operations at Fisherman’s Wharf in Macau.
Macau Legend Development Limited operates casinos under the license of SJM Holdings Limited. Mr. Tong announced this exciting news at an interview in Tokyo.
Fisherman’s Wharf has always been an area of Macau which has never really lived up to its amazing potential. Over the years it has proved to be a fairly average tourist attraction despite being an area that could offer so much more.
This injection of money should see the Wharf become another must-see part of the SJM empire outside of the Grand Lisboa and the Lisboa. I can only hope the development money is not just spent on casinos but also the total redevelopment of an area which needs to recapture the imagination of visitors.
