Fun with black sand

Written by Yuci Tai

Macau doesn’t only sell luxury entertainment and hotel facilities, I’m going to recommend one of the world’s most unique nature tours, right here in Macau. It is perfect for a getaway for two days and one night. Hac Sa Beach is known as one of the eight famous sightseeing points in Macau. This summer, take the shackles off your feet, walk on natural swarthy sand and enjoy the cool feeling of water on your toes!

Hac Sa Beach is on the southeast side of Coloane. As its Chinese name implies, Hac Sa Beach is famous for its black sand and provides a truly mystical feeling. It is about 1,350 metres long and is a hotspot for water sports or stargazing. At the beach you can swim, build a sand castle, fly a kite or collect shells while on the water you can drive a speedboat, sail or have fun with a surfboard. Or you can just lie back and relax in the sun!

At the beach entrance, there is an area perfect for various family activities, Hac Sa Park. Its 18,500 square meters includes a swimming pool, a mini-soccer pitch, tennis courts, table tennis, a specially designed children’s playground, a farming field, a picnic area and more.

Next to the beach, there is the five-star Westin Resort Macau with a golf course and other tourist facilities. If you are tired of staring at concrete walls, you can also camp at Hac Sa Beach. There is no need to book and the sites are free to use so you can save on hotel accommodation, while having a barbecue and embracing the stars. How fun!
