While there are plenty of high stakes poker rooms in town, Galaxy Macau is lookingto attract a different crowd with its flashy new Pavilion Poker Room.
Galaxy Macau has added some more diversity to its gaming floor offerings with the launch of Macau’s newest poker room.
Pavilion Poker Room, which first launched in 2015, has undergone a facelift in recent months with eight tables now located in a small but pleasantly-designed space just inside Galaxy’s south entrance.
Focussing primarily on casual players, the room offers lower rake and smaller buy-ins with blinds starting from HK$25/50.
“The Pavilion Poker room has always been the best value poker game for players in Macau,” explains Poker Room Manager Victor Chan. “Our rake is capped at HK$150 and the Pavilion Poker staff are both highly professional and well credentialed with many having dealt and supervised some of the biggest games in the world in their previous roles at StarWorld.
“We also have one of the best Poker Room locations in Macau right next to restaurants, the cashier, restrooms and a large variety of electronic and table games.”
When WGM stopped by to check out Pavilion Poker Room, we were impressed to see a 25/50 game getting underway shortly after midday and a waiting list starting to grow for 50/100. We also couldn’t help but notice the Bad Beat Jackpot ticking its way up towards HK$330,000.
As per room rules, any player who makes four-of-a-kind and loses – provided the hand is played through to showdown – will scoop 60% of the jackpot with the winner of the hand taking 30% and the rest of the table splitting 10%.
“We have always been innovative in trying to give the best rewards to our customers and the Bad Beat Jackpot is a reward that is only available in Galaxy Macau when it comes to poker rooms in Macau,” said Chan.
While No Limit Hold’em cash games are currently the only games on offer, Pavilion Poker will look into holding small tournaments in the not too distant future. In the meantime, this is the place to come for friendly, smaller stakes poker that won’t put your whole bankroll at risk.
