Good Food Guide: ao Grama Asia

Written by The Panda

Hidden away in Taipa is Portuguese restaurant ao Grama Asia. Although pleasant enough from the front, it’s unremarkable entrance belies the surprisingly spacious interior and makes for quite a surprise when you first walk in.

Ao Grama Asia boasts bright red chairs offset by checkered table cloths, white walls and black and white tiled floors not dissimilar to those in Senado Square. It’s an extremely pleasant environment with the extensive menu boasting everything from seafood dishes to sumptuous meat, poultry and vegetarian meals, however we settled for meat croquettes and Stewed Chicken in Spicy Sauce. The Croquettes were very tasty although they could probably have done with some sort of sauce to add a bit more moisture.

The Stewed Chicken was delicious! The tender meat was perfectly complimented by the hot and flavorsome tomato-based sauce while the generous serve was more than enough four our fill. A hidden gem no more, ao Grama Asia can expect to see us back soon to try some more of their scrumptious looking Portuguese specialties. No doubt it will be worth the effort.
