Good Food Guide: CaféMart

CaféMart is hidden in a small street in the old town area, with a very simple outlook and just 10 tables. Its signature dish is Belgian waffles, so we decided to see what all the fuss was about and ordered a fresh strawberry and cream waffle served with chocolate-flavored ice cream. Compared with other waffles we’ve had, the ones here are a lot more chewy and crispy. Together with the ice cream and strawberry they are very tasty although they lack of the traditional egg flavor a little bit. Besides waffles, CaféMart provides pasta, sandwiches, snacks and so on. I tried their prawn and tomato pasta.

The noodles are a bit on the hard side, which is how I like them, but the tomato flavor of the sauce isn’t really strong enough. However, what surprised me was their coffee. The flavor was strong and fragrant, and it comes with warm milk. Unlike other simple cafés, CaféMart also has chocolate hotpot and beer. What’s more, I found my favorite Apple Cider here which is rarely seen in cafés. It made for a pleasant surprise!
