Good Food Guide: Mactugal

Written by The Panda

Although pork buns are one of Macau’s famous cuisines, we’ve never really thought of them as anything special. But since Mactugal opened, we’re more than happy to admit we were wrong! Our hearts were thoroughly captured by their Signature Satay Macanese Pork Chop Bun. It’s easy to see the owner’s dedication to food quality from the ingredients he uses. The bun doesn’t use any flavoring or coloring agents but instead consists of imported flour, naturally fermented handmade bread, premium American kurobuta pork (which is tender, sweet and juicy), and a unique homemade sauce with 30 kinds of herbs.

We found the taste fascinating. There are a few different options such as Lisbon Lemon and Herb Macanese Pork Chop Bun and African Angola Spicy Macanese Pork Chop Bun which are both delicious. We recommend the Honey Milk Tea to drink, which uses Hokkaido milk and tastes very creamy. Handmade cookies are baked fresh daily but get in early – they are in limited supply!
