Despite its location at the relatively quiet Rua da Alfândega, Ramen Kou-ji has built up a reputation among its faithful patrons. This Japanese restaurant specializes in Yokohama ramen, which differs from the Kyushu ramen more commonly found in Macau. The ramen soup is made from pork bone, chicken bone and dried fish. Although only five types of ramen are available, the restaurant certainly proves that quality beats quantity. In order to keep the ramen at its best, it is only served at the restaurant (no takeaway available).
We recommend the springy tonkotsu dip sauce ramen which tastes delicious with its fresh onion and bonito powder. Another highlight is the tonkotsu soy sauce ramen. The thick broth and soy sauce are appetizing while the black fungus gives it a crunchy texture. You can also request toppings, with the half-boiled egg a favorite of ours.
