Hong Kong’s Theodore Racing wins GP2 Series

Written by Ben Blaschke

A week after falling agonizingly short of winning its ninth Macau Grand Prix, Hong Kong’s Theodore Racing Team has claimed victory in the GP2 Series championship at the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

The next step down from Formula 1 and run in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Formula 1  Grand Prix, the GP2 Series came down to a battle between Theodore Racing teammates Pierre Gasly and Antonio Giovinazzi with Gasly overcoming a seven-point deficit by winning Saturday’s Feature Race.

His success also guaranteed the Constructors’ Championships was headed Hong Kong’s way.

Teddy Yip Jr, the son of Macau Grand Prix founder Teddy Yip, relaunched Theodore Racing in 2013.
