Industry expert warns Macau will “Strategize or Suffer”

Written by Ben Blaschke

Dr Brian To has warned Macau gaming and hospitality businesses must seriously strategize and innovate to drive growth, or suffer the consequences.

The visiting professor, a graduate of numerous world famous Universities such as Harvard, Oxford and HEC Paris, said, “Macau needs to develop competitive strategies quickly before other countries such as Korea, Vietnam and the Philippines take more of the China market.”

Dr To was speaking at an industry leadership development event held at Banyan Tree Macau and organized by WGM sister publication Inside Asian Gaming.

“The consequence of slow action will be that more and more operators in Australia, USA and Hong Kong will look at other areas of Asia in which to invest,” said Dr To.

Dr To is Senior Professor at several leading universities across the world and Senior Fellow at the Wharton business school. He advises Fortune 500 corporations and ultra-high net worth family businesses as well as governments and state-owned enterprises across Asia. He can be reached at [email protected].
