Macau’s biggest Wine Festival is back

Written by Yuci Tai

The Wine Society of Macau brings the second edition of the highly successful Wine and Dine Festival to The Venetian Macau’s Outdoor Lagoon for a celebration of food and wine from 20 to 23 March. The Wine and Dine Festival 2014 which is the largest wine event in Macau, brings together 30 booths featuring more than 100 internationally recognized products, spread across the extravaganza of entertainment, wine appreciation courses, tastings, pairings and more. Get ready to enjoy the wine and have hijinks this weekend!

With the combined influence of Chinese culture and Portuguese tradition, Macau enjoys a unique heritage – bringing together the Old World of wine with an increasingly voracious wine-loving market. This festival embraces wines from across the world and those who wish to enjoy, learn and buy and sell wine.

A wide variety of international culinary delights serve as pairing or individual palate experiences and a constant set of street and stage entertainment programs and wine workshops run throughout the four-day event. The workshops are for various levels of proficiency – from entry level to master classes – with wine pairings, wine appreciation and vinification techniques all available for guests to experience. The Wine School offers courses such as wine tasting of wines from Italy, Spain, South Africa and Portugal, and knowledge of wine pairing with Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Event entry is free, with cash coupons and Wine Passes available for purchase. Cash coupons cost HK$10 and one Wine Pass costs HK$100 with one free wine glass and 10 coupons.
