Macau’s five star rating

Forbes Travel Guide announced recently the 56th annual Forbes Travel Guide Star Ratings, with 15 five-star hotels, 16 five-star restaurants and five five-star spas new to the list. They include two new five-star hotels in Macau – the Four Seasons Hotel Macau and Banyan Tree Macau. This year sees the most in Forbes Travel Guide’s history with 97 five-star hotels worldwide.

Macau now boasts seven five-star hotels on the ratings list which are Wynn Macau, Encore Macau and Mandarin Oriental located at Macau Peninsula; Altira Macau located at Taipa; and Crown Towers Macau, Four Seasons Hotel Macau and Banyan Tree Macau located on the Cotai Strip.

The hotel, spa and restaurant of Wynn Macau, Encore Macau, Altira Macau and Mandarin Oriental all received five stars, making them “triple five-star hotels”, while Crown Towers Macau had the hotel, spa and two restaurants (Jade Dragon and The Tasting Room) receive five-star ratings to become Macau’s only “quadruple five-star hotel.”

There were also seven hotels in Macau rated Forbes Travel Guide four-star hotels. They are MGM Macau located at Macau Peninsula; Conrad Macau and Holiday Inn Macau located at Cotai Central; and Galaxy Hotel, Grand Hyatt Macau, Hotel Okura Macau and The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel located on the Cotai Strip.
