O’Dwyer wins ACOP Super High Roller

Written by Ben Blaschke

Ireland’s Steve O’Dwyer has claimed the biggest prize in ACOP history after taking down the HK$500,000 Super High Roller event at City of Dreams overnight.

Facing a first class final table boasting the likes of high roller specialist and Big One for One Drop champion Daniel Colman as well as former WSOP November Niner Joseph Cheong, O’Dwyer added HK$14 million and an ACOP Spadie to a resume that also boasts the 2013 EPT Grand Final title.

With 52 players entering on Sunday and another 50 rebuys thrown in, the huge HK$48.5 million prize pool ensured this was a record breaking event in the PokerStars LIVE Macau room with the eight players who returned for last night’ final table all guaranteed a minimum payout of HK$2,420,400.

That proved to be the amount Belgium’s David Kitai would pocket after he was the first to be sent home, however the biggest moment of the event came soon after when Colman – who boasts a phenomenal record in high roller events in 2014 – shoved with AK only to run onto O’Dwyer’s Aces.
