Rain on our 2nd birthday

People talk about rain on your wedding day as being a “bad omen”. But Macau’s hottest new food and entertainment venue named Rain was the exact opposite. Located at Cotai’s first hotel casino, the Grand Waldo, Rain proved the perfect venue for World Gaming magazine’s second birthday party.

We had been looking for a hot new venue to hold our second birthday party and a place to launch our new website. The World Gaming crew have always been big fans of the Grand Waldo so when we discovered this hip new bar and restaurant would be available for lavish functions we pulled out all the stops to lock in this venue.

The Grand Waldo might be half the size of some of Taipa’s mega resorts like The Venetian, Galaxy and City of Dreams but it is one of those more intimate casinos that makes you feel at home. The casino is well run and offers everything the larger boys do but with a personalized touch.

One of the biggest draw cards is the spa facility, which offers fantastic services for men and women alike. We featured this wonderful new addition to the Macau landscape in our Jan/Feb 2011 issue. My good mate, The Dragon, spoke about many of the features at the Grand Waldo Spa in that article, which you can revisit at our website wgm8.com.

Rain is the latest addition to the Grand Waldo property and it promises to bring a new level of quality dining and nightlife to the casino. I love to party in a place where there has been attention given to getting the details right. Soft lighting, a long well stocked bar and a commitment to live music and DJs makes this the perfect place for a good night out. We thank them for making our night one to remember.

It was a special celebration for us as we moved into the third year of operation but it also celebrated the launch of our new interactive website, wgm8.com. World Gaming Magazine CEO, Andrew Scott spoke on the night and in this issue he has given his insights into where Macau is headed and where WGM fits within the biggest and fastest-growing gaming region in the world.

This is one stallion that likes to let down his mane and have a rocking good time. So for those who made it to the party I hope you had a great time and for everyone else I hope you enjoy the photos!

Party on with The Stallion and wgm8.com.
