Macau is famous for its world class spas and they are the best place to unwind and relax after a day of gaming. There are plenty of wonderful spas in Macau and one of the best is without doubt the Altira Spa, located at the Altira Casino (formally known as Crown). Altira Spa won the prestigious Best Hotel Spa in Asia at the Asia Spa and Wellness Festival in 2009. Once you have treated yourself to the luxury and services on offer you’ll understand why this is the spa everyone has been talking about.

No one could complain about its size – the Altira Spa is generously spread over 6000 square metres making it one of the largest spas in Macau. While you relax in the spa or steam room you can take in the stunning views of the Macau Peninsula. The Altira Spa’s ethos is ‘to combine luxury in a contemporary setting’ and it is safe to say they have exceeded this expectation.

The range of services on offer is extensive and caters to a discerning clientèle. There is a huge range of the most sophisticated wet spa facilities in Macau – vitality pools, crystal steam rooms, saunas, an ice fountain, rasul and experience showers. There is also a huge range of services for individuals and couples.

Guests can choose their own treatment or they can opt for a ‘signature treatment’ or ‘journey’ that combines a package taking all the guess work out of your treatment decision. The friendly Altira staff have designed treatments to complement each other to give you an all over body experience.

The massages fall into two categories: invigorate and replenish. Altira Spa experts are available to take away all of those aches and pains and there is even a gentle massage for expectant mothers. Body scrubs and body wraps are the perfect complement to a massage, as your skin is replenished with custom-blended raw ingredients incorporated with essential oils.

There are six facial treatments to try including anti-ageing, repair, hydration and even an ‘urban’ service tailored for gentlemen. There is also an extensive range of salon services where you can indulge yourself with a range of hand care, foot care, hair styling, hair colouring, waxing or makeup services.

The range of services offered at Macau spas far outweighs most of their western competitors and you will be pleasantly surprised by the level of service as well as the reasonable rates.

Altira Spa hours are 10am to midnight and the Salon is open from 10am to 8pm. Reservations are recommended.
