Resorts World Las Vegas build almost underway

Written by Ben Blaschke

Construction of the US$4 billion, Chinese-themed Resorts World Las Vegas could start imminently following reports that owner Genting Group is expanding its site preparation work.

Genting Americas Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, Michael Levoff, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the company was now planning to incorporate the unfinished structures left behind by former site owner Boyd Gaming into Resorts World Las Vegas.

“We’re continuing to expand our site preparation work in advance of full project mobilisation,” Levoff said.

A construction worker on the site was also quoted as saying that Genting has installed a large aerial work platform to inspect scaffolding where one of the resort’s towers will be located.

When complete, Resorts World Las Vegas will boast 3,000 hotel rooms, a 110,000 square foot casino, 3.200 seat theatre and 150,000 square feet of convention space.
