Superstars land in Macau

Written by Yuci Tai

Macau is quickly becoming a must-see destination for the world’s biggest pop stars with Rihanna and Justin Bieber both announcing they will perform at the Venetian Macao later this year. Worldwide superstar Rihanna – the “Number One Person on Facebook” with over 63 million fans – is bringing her Diamonds World Tour to Macao. Tickets for the first show sold out quickly but she has just added a second show on 14 September.

The recipient of six Grammy Awards and seven Billboard Music Awards, Rihanna has sold over 41 million albums and 150 million digital tracks worldwide and currently holds the record as the top-selling digital artist of all time. In addition to her 12 “Hot 100” number one singles and overall 24 Top 10 singles, she also has 18 number one singles on the Billboard Dance Club Song Charts.

Bieber’s Believe Tour in Macao is set to make a big splash on 12 October with a one night only performance. It also will be the last stop on the Asian leg of the teen idol’s hugely successful tour. With January’s number one debut of his third remix album, Believe Acoustic, the Canadian recording artist made history by becoming the first ever artist to earn five number on albums before his 19th birthday. First week sales of Believe Acoustic totaled 211,000 units and the album was also number one on iTunes in more than 60 countries. This accomplishment makes him just the 10th act to achieve a number one album in four consecutive years, putting him in the company of a handful of artists holding that rare distinction including Jay-Z, the Beatles and Paul McCartney/Wings.

Tickets for both can be booked online at www.CotaiTicketing.com, or by phone at +853 2882 8818 (Macao) / +852 6333 6660 (HK) / 4001 206 618 (China) and are also available at Tom Lee Outlets, K11 Select.
