Weekend wrap

Written by Big Jim

It proved to be a huge weekend in the EPL. Chelsea went down to Everton and Manchester City shared the points with my boys the “Potters” in Stoke. Tottenham also scored us the chocolates in what was a great weekend for Big Jim and his followers. Let’s just hope for a low scoring game in Wales tonight when Liverpool travel to meet Swansea.

There were mixed results for us in the NFL. Chicago won the game in the last seconds of their match but failed to cover against the Vikings. It is hard to say a team’s season is already over after two games but going zero from two in the NFC North with the Bears, Packers and Lions showing form is an ominous sign for the boys from Minnesota.

The AFL would have worked out well for you if you followed my advice and backed the two favorites. It sets up two incredible Preliminary Finals next weekend which clearly feature the best four teams of the year. I still like the Hawks to win the premiership and I have Fremantle as my smoky.

We got off to a great start in the NRL with Souths getting the money against the Storm. The Roosters were brutal against the Sea Eagles and the Bulldogs disgraceful against the Knights. The Bunnies and Roosters look to have the edge now with the week off but both Manly and the Storm could still win their next two and make it to the grand final.

In the rugby union, the All Blacks were simply awesome against the Springboks. I thought the Kiwis might have been vulnerable this year in the Rugby Championship but you can’t be right all the time. New Zealand is easily the best rugby team in the world and the other sides have a long way to go to catch up.
