WGM’s Best Bets: Monday 9 February

Having taken a break following the Australian Open, a star-studded field lines up this week for the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in the Netherlands. They include Andy Murray, Stanislas Wawrinka, Tomas Berdych, Milos Raonic, Grigor Dimitrov, Ernests Gulbis and 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic.

Berdych won this event last year but if we’re going on form we like the look of Wawrinka here. Berdych’s disappointing exit at the hands of Murray in the Australian Open semis was typical of his performances against the very best, while Murray himself suffered a disastrous meltdown against Novak Djokovic in the final that will certainly have scarred him. At least Wawrinka took Djokovic to five sets in their brilliant semi-final clash.
