WGM’s Best Bets: Tuesday 13 January

Written by Ben Blaschke

It’s been a pretty awful few days of sports betting here at WGM with Manchester City conceding late to let us down in the Premier League and the Patriots just failing to cover the spread after coming back from 14 points down to beat the Ravens in the NFL playoffs.

Nevertheless, these things happen from time to time and we were pleased to come across a few promising opportunities on a busy day for sports today. We’ll start with the FA Cup where West Ham hosts Everton in a third round replay following last week’s 1-1 draw at Goodison Park. It took a Romelu Lukaku goal to save Everton in injury time on that occasion but away from home is a different proposition with just two wins in 11 EPL road trips this season. West Ham continues to prove tough to break down and should be too good here. .

The second round of matches in the 2015 Asian Cup get underway for the four Group A sides tonight with hosts Australia facing Oman and South Korea up against Kuwait. We expect both Australia and Kuwait to seal their progression past the group stages but are particularly keen on South Korea for the win. Kuwait struggled enormously to contain the Socceroos in their opener last week, conceding four goals, and face an even greater threat here against a Korean side ranked 31 places higher than Australia.

Finally, we’re off to the NBA where the Golden State Warriors continue their ruthless charge towards the playoffs. Boasting a league-best 29-5 record, they have recently welcomed back a number of key players from injury and look a class above the Utah Jazz tonight. For the record, the Warriors have won their last five games by 15 points or more and should cover here.
