A huge weekend of sport sees us traversing the globe to find the best match-ups we can find and we’ll start in Sydney tonight for the NRL match between old rivals Manly and Canterbury at Brookvale Oval. The betting line has this one pegged as a very close game but we’re struggling to see anything but a Canterbury win.
The Sea Eagles might have won last week but there are big question marks over their forward pack after previously struggling to match it with the impressive packs of the Roosters and Eels. Given Canterbury also boast a fearsome bunch of forwards, we expect them to roll over the top of Manly’s men.
It’s quarter final time at the Cricket World Cup with co-hosts New Zealand facing the West Indies in Wellington today. The Kiwis topped their group after winning all six games and unless disaster strikes should have far too much fire power for the Windies, who only just scraped into the quarters.
Finally, it’s the big one – Liverpool v Manchester United! The fiercest rivalry in the EPL holds extra importance this time around with United clinging to the final Champions League spot but Liverpool sitting just two points behind and ready to pounce. We favour Liverpool here for three reasons – one, they’re at home; two, they are the form team of the moment and still unbeaten in the premiership in 2015; and three, they’ve been very good to us in recent weeks so we’ll stick with a good thing.
