WGM’s tip for 10 October: Bosnia and Herzegovina

Written by Ben Blaschke

It’s the second round of matches in qualifying for Euro 2016 and already we’ve got a clash that looks likely to play a huge role in who progresses and who is left ruing a wasted opportunity.

Tonight sees Wales play host to one of the 13 European sides to take part in the recent World Cup in Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Wales has only ever qualified for one major international tournament – the 1958 World Cup – and this is their best chance in years to emerge from the wilderness. They won their opener in Andorra and with Gareth Bale leading the way certainly boast some world class quality.

However, the absence of injured duo Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen for this game is a massive blow and one we believe tips the scales in Bosnia’s favour. Despite a shock 2-1 loss to Cyprus in their first qualifier, the Eastern European’s dominated the majority of that game and with the likes of Eden Dzeko leading their attack it’s hard to see them having another shocking day in front of goal.
