WGM’s tip for 17 December: Australia

The second cricket Test match between Australia and India gets underway today with Australia looking to go 2-0 up in the four-match series.

There have certainly been some setbacks for Australia – none more telling than the hamstring injury that has ruled captain Michael Clarke out for the next few months – but despite a thrilling finish to the first Test last week it’s hard to see the hosts being troubled here.

The Brisbane pitch is much more suited to the Australian bowlers than Adelaide’s was – and we can’t overlook the fact that the Aussies haven’t lost at this venue since 1988!
