We’ve been waiting to see this star-studded young Belgian team finally play their first game at this World Cup and today is the day. Boasting a host of English Premier League players including Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany and impressive striker Romelu Lukaku, they are considered by many to be football’s next emerging powerhouse.
They face African side Algeria today and given their respective pedigrees we’re going to go for some value by backing Belgium with a -1 handicap. They romped home in their European qualifying group scoring 18 goals and conceding just 4, while Algeria cruised through the opening rounds in Africa but needed the away goal rule to qualify at the expense of Burkina Faso in Stage 3 after the two legs finished 3-3.
