Thrashed 5-1 by the Netherlands on Day 2, they find themselves in the precarious position of facing Chile with a whopping six goals separating the two sides on goal difference, which means that even a draw today would put Spain in serious danger of being eliminated in the group stages.
Chile started well against Australia in their opener to lead 2-0 early but were dominated for large periods from then on and it took a late goal as the Aussies pushed forward to seal their 3-1 win. They’ll have much more trouble with the Spaniards.
