As the two first-up losers from this group, it’s very possible that one of these sides will be out of the running to progress past the group stages come the end of this game. Uruguay’s shock 3-1 loss to Costa Rica was not the result they wanted in their opener and given they face Italy in their last game that makes this a must-win for them.
But can they get past England? The 1966 World Cup champions were far from disgraced in going down 2-1 to the Italians and they should have too much class for battling Uruguay. The one X-factor is the fitness of Luis Suarez who missed the first game with injury. Will he take the field here? His presence will make England’s task that much tougher but we still think they will be too strong across the park.
