The lopsided thrashings of the early rounds are over and with the Australian Open having moved into its second week we’ve got some thrilling matches to look forward to in the coming days.
The highlight of Day 9 is the top 10 clash between world number three David Ferrer and world number seven Tomas Berdych with Ferrer looking to reach the semi-finals in Melbourne for the third time and Berdych hoping to do so for the first time after making to the quarters for the fifth year in a row in 2013.
It seems to us that this could be a big year for Berdych, and while Ferrer’s relentless consistency is his greatest weapon he hasn’t moved through this event with quite as much ease as his in-form opponent. Berdych to win.
