The Dutch will be thankful that they have been handed the “easiest” quarter-final tie of this year’s World Cup against surprise packets Costa Rica after their miracle escape in the Round of 16 against Mexico.
As dangerous as it has been to underestimate the underdogs in Brazil, the Dutch will surely have learnt the lessons of their thrilling 3-2 win over lowly Australia in Group B – a clash most expected them to win easily – and provided they play to their potential they will have far too much class in this one.
