Pakistan and Australia meet in the first of three One Day Internationals today in the United Arab Emirates as both sides ramp up their preparations for next year’s World Cup.
The turning wickets usually found in the UAE make this an interesting match-up, but to be honest it’s hard to go past the Australians here. The last time these sides met in the UAE two years ago in a series the Aussies won 2-1, the man that caused them most problems with the ball was spinner Saeed Ajmal but his recent suspension for an illegal bowling action removes that threat – opening the door for the visitors’ powerful batting line-up to flex their muscle.
