WGM’s tip for 9 December: Arsenal

It must be terribly frustrating being an Arsenal fan. At their best they are one of the most graceful sides in all of Europe to watch, yet too often they produce performance like last weekend’s 3-2 league loss to Stoke when they trailed 3-0 at half-time.

Despite their inconsistency, they have remained strong in this season’s Champions League and head into tonight’s final group game with qualification already guaranteed. They also have the luxury of playing last-placed Galatasaray who have taken just one point from their five games – conceding 15 goals in the process.

Although Arsenal’s dodgy defence is a worry, their Turkish rivals don’t appear to be a side able to exploit it.
