Red
New York, the 1950’s: Mark Rothko, a renowned abstract expressionist painter of the 20th century, accepted an invitation to create a set of unique wall murals for the Four Seasons restaurant in the Seagram Building. Rothko and Ken, his young assistant, spent some time on the project and the heated discussions between the two raised an array of questions: the entanglement of red and black, the conflict between art and commerce, the impact of youth on the aging, the meaning of existence and death. Internationally acclaimed in London and in the Broadway, Red won a Tony Award for “Best Drama” in 2010.
