Don’t miss the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong exhibition in Macau Tower where you can see the legendary Anita Mui alongside a collection of her personal belongings; while the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their 2013 “You Write the Rules” World Tour to Macau this Saturday.

Evening Concert – The Flowers Beckon in Hakka Blues
Taiwanese songstress Lo Sirong, who sang with Gomoteu and produced their album “The Flowers Beckon”, mixes folk, blues and Japanese Enka to produce her unique sound. Having recently taken top honors in the Top Ten Album category in the Chinese Music Awards, Sirong accompanies Gomoteu in Taipa’s romantic lakeside amphitheatre in an evening concert that is sure to enthral.

Macau and Henan Province Taoist Music Concert
In this intriguing concert, the Macau Taoist Orchestra will collaborate with the Henan Province Taoist Orchestra, embracing the different styles of Taoist music originating from Macau and Henan. Taoist Ritual Music in Macau – listed as a National Intangible Cultural Legacy in 2011 – comprises music from the Zhengyi School and Quanzhen School. In addition to these classical Taoist music pieces, the Macau Taoist Orchestra will perform unique Taoist percussion melodies.

Macau Awareness Campaign – Evening Tours in Portuguese Rhythm
Visitors will led by trained guides as they start at Lilau Square and Luís de Camões Square to explore the Historic Centre of Macau whilst sharing folk legends about its ancient streets and “bringing the stones alive”. These tours are in Cantonese.

“Inherit and carry forward the mission” – China famous Guqin
Ghe Macao Guqin Research Institute presents a Conc
ert of the “Chinese Guqin heritors” – Li Xiang Ting, Guqin master and Professor at the Central Conservatory of Music; and Gong Yi, Professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Composer Liu Chen Chen will arrange Teresa Teng’s song “Wish You a Long Life” for Guqin and Guzheng. Teacher Leong Tek Ka, President of the Macao Guqin Research Institute, will lead her Qin Zheng” students in a performance of this song at the opening of the concert.

Fun Fishing Boat Cruise
Want to have fun while helping a worthy cause? Embark upon this unique cruise at Doca da Ilha Verde where it will depart for the Inner Harbour, the Sai Van Bridge, Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge and Kun Iam Statue before returning. Backyard – New Works by James Chu
One of Macau’s most prominent artists, designers and curators, James Chu has just launched his first local solo exhibition of the year. With the restorative atmosphere of a backyard increasingly difficult to find in modern society, Chu searches out the territory where the human spirit can fly. In this exhibition, the artist showcases his nine newest pieces, mainly in mixed media, with the sale of some of his works earmarked for ORBIS Macau and ANIMA Macau.

Memories of Rice Paper – A Retrospective of Chui Tak Kei’s Artworks exhibition

The Glorious Era of Julius Caesar – Military Science and Technology in Roman Republic

Hippie – J Lo Solo Exhibition
Japanese calligrapher Inoue Yuichi once described the process of creation as a conflict between oneself and one’s internalized pain. The works displayed here consist of improvisational dots, lines and color. Each brush is drawn in a peaceful state of mind, reflecting the image in his heart onto the surface.

Europe has long held a fascination with Chinese culture, dating back as far as the Ming dynasty when missionaries brought Chinese philosophy, art, religion, science and technology back home with them. Dubbed Chinoiserie, this fashion permeated many facets of European life. This exhibition traces the origins of Chinoiserie and its influence in France with over 80 valuable items including paintings, prints, ceramics and tapestries.
