Adapted from Eileen Chang’s novel, the play Eighteen Springs re-ran in Hong Kong in 2013 following the successes of its 2012 debut. It highlights the challenge of conveying the emotions of the characters without the original monologues in the novel. Now the whole performance focuses on the seven men and women, wiping off the other insignificant characters.
