Enjoy the opening ceremony of the annual A-Ma Cultural & Tourism Festival of Macau in the A-Ma Cultural Village (10:00 to 12:00) on top of Mt. Coloane, which also houses the world’s tallest A-Ma statue – standing at almost 20 metres tall and weighing 1,000 tons – sculpted by more than 100 Hebei stonemasons and transported in 140 blocks to Macau. Afternoon celebrations include a parade (15:00 to 17:00) winding its way between Fai Chi Kei Northern Bay Recreational Area and Iao Hon Market Park plus a music performance (20:30 to 22:30). The A-Ma Customs and Beliefs of Macau were inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009.
