The intriguing one-act play “Before Breakfast”, penned by playwright Eugene O’Neill in 1916 and presented by the Conservatory of Macau in The Mandarin’s House, is driven by the monologue of a woman berating her silent off-stage husband. Situated in the UNESCO-listed Historic Centre of Macau, the house boasts the largest scale of traditional Guangdong residential features and Western architectural influences – in this case, a marriage that works!
