What’s on tonight: Thursday 22 August 2013

Yueju Opera (Cantonese Opera) – distinguished by its plain yet bold performing skills including single foot, stopping, moving eyes, somersaulting and trenching – can be traced back over 300 years. Prevalent throughout southern China, Yueju Opera is listed under “Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO. This week, enjoy the Yueju Opera Gala in this cultural salute to a world-renowned art as well as the Xiangshan Yueju Opera Gala starring the Xiangshan Cantonese Opera Troupe and local performers.
