Japan’s Iori Yogo has taken full advantage of the absence of four-time Player of the Year (POTY) Sam Razavi to climb into the lead in the Asian Poker Tour’s 2016 POTY race following the conclusion of last week’s APT Experience Manila.
With Razavi back home in England attending to the small matter of getting married – and our congratulations to Sam – Yogo notched four cashes while his rival was away including victory in the 6-handed event and three more final tables finishes.
Last year’s runner-up now sits on 1892.2 points, just ahead of Razavi with 1795.9.
It was also a profitable event for Korea, who won nine of the 19 events on offer including the Main Event, which was captured by Gyeong Byeong Lee. Lee earned P1,574,000 for his efforts.
The next stop on the APT calendar is APT Cambodia at Queenco Hotel & Casino in Sihanoukville from 15 to 23 June.
