Written by Ben Blaschke

For sports fans around the world, this is the week they’ve been waiting months for with the new NFL season finally getting underway. But if it’s poker you love, today’s the day.

Of all the poker television programs that have played a big part in expanding the game’s popularity over the past decade or so, none is better than ESPN’s annual coverage of the World Series of Poker Main Event. And it all starts today!

Hosted by the dream team of frontman Lon McEachern and funnyman sidekick Norman Chad, the WSOP on ESPN is loved by poker playing pros and amateurs new to the game alike and there is no better way to see the drama of the world’s most prestigious poker tournament unfold.

Starting today, ESPN2 will air two one-hour episodes each Tuesday morning at 09:00 Macau for three weeks before switching to Mondays at 09:30 for the following six weeks in the lead-up to the 2015 November Nine.

Just be aware that, due to clashes with the aforementioned NFL, WSOP coverage might be affected in some jurisdictions so check your local guides for confirmation. Not to be missed!
